About Rikshaw House
Located at 14135 Greenfield Rd, Detroit, MI 48227, Rikshaw House operates as a chinese restaurant serving Detroit in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 amโ9 pm. It is closed on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (313) 836-6000. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Its Google rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 248 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Detroit is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Michigan's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Do not go here! This (used) to be good food...Its NOT NOW! The new look is misleading...the food is horrible. The chicken was dry, no sauce and it tastes like they used spoiled chicken. They didn't give me my spring roll that I paid for. No napkins...I will never go back to this place again!

Omg, what happened. Food star is really a 00. I've been going here since 2009. Truth is this was a hole in the wall with authentic tasting Chinese food. Now it tastes like all the others. It's set up buffet style which allows food to dry out and overcook. I went yesterday and ordered szechuan chicken, shrimp fried rice that was so mushy I could've squeezed it into a ball. The eggroll was refried and greasy which I had specifically asked for a freshly dropped one at order window. I also asked for fresh rice. You should stay on the inside and watch how they prepare your food because I had stepped outside. Too bad I won't be returning. It's a shame looks like they spent $25,000 to remodel and it looks great but your food is garbage now. This always happens in predominantly African American neighborhoods. You no longer get the quality but the prices don't hesitate to increase. So long, nice knowing you Rikshaw house!

I tried this place yesterday for lunch and it was so good I went back today! Just as good! I had the sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour with rice and a spring roll. Great customer service. I will definitely be back

They should have kept this place a hole in the wall. That food is trash now! What happened to the lil ole lady who used to be in their throwing down? Did they sell the place to someone one else. The meat tastes awful, I didnโt get my egg roll but Iโm glad I didnโt! Lmao! I asked for the sauce to be on the side of course they just drenched it! Like hell no! I wonโt be coming back! ๐คฎ๐ซฉ๐ฎ๐๏ธ Edit to add: the place does look very decent thoughโฆ..

Service was slow took longer than the 15 minutes quoted. Friendly. Food was okay liked the fried rice better then Lou Mein Noodles. Not the original Chinese Flare expected. If service was faster I would consider trying something else on the menu. Call in orders seem to be effective but no menu to take home or in bag. Lou Mein came with white rice would have preferred more fried it taste better.
